Interview Protocol Two
The interview protocol below resulted from questions explored through the
constant comparative method of research. Three observations and one
interview have been undertaken in which hypotheses were tested and the list of
questions below evolved through that process.
This interview was undertaken in order to test the validity of the questions
which resulted from analysis of three observations and the initial interview.
The interviewee was the sponsor of the SGA at ASU-Newport. Permission was
received from the sponsor to tape the interview prior to the interview.
Upon completion of the interview, the data was transcribed and analyzed.
The interview protocol for the interview described above is as follows:
- What do you think about ASU-Newport?
- What is the purpose of SGA?
- Are students always present at the SGA meetings?
- Are sponsors always present at the SGA meetings?
- Do sponsors interject their thoughts whenever they feel it is necessary or
helpful?
- Do the SGA members run the meeting?
- Does discussion takes place between SGA members and a facilitator?
- Is the president usually the facilitator of discussions?
- Are motions made by members followed by discussion and a vote by the
entire group?
- Is there no opposition to motions that are voted on?
- Does the SGA plan events and services on and off campus?
- Are discussions broken down into new business and old business?
- Is SGA responsible for raising money for itself?
- Is SGA interested in advertising itself?
- Can you think of anything that I have neglected to ask that might provide
more insight into what SGA is all about?
