Final Project
For the final project in Organization Development in Education we were required to produce a document which included an assessment of ourselves based around the four themes of the doctoral program: Self, Leadership, Organizations, and Change Process. This document consisted of a title page, table of contents, and preface followed by six chapters and references. The chapters discussed leadership, organizations, the change process, self, looking back (closing reflections), and looking forward (life questions). This document resulted in a self-assessment booklet.
Leadership speaks to the academic materials I have been exposed to with regard to the process of leading an organization and requires a degree of shared responsibility and empowerment. The chapter on organizations focuses on how organizations are made up and the implications and facets of those organizations. The change process covers the ideas of how possible change is in an organization, what must be done in order to implement change, and how to maintain change once it is implemented. Finally, Self refers to me as the leader indicating a need for a leader to focus on oneself throughout the process of leadership.
This assessment reflected on how I have changed since I enrolled in the program and what I learned that I would like to take with me upon leaving the program. Included was what I believe will have a lasting effect on me professionally and personally as well as what I now perceive to be my greatest challenges. Finally, I discussed the goals I have for my future self directed learning as well as planned formal education.
