Choosing Adventure over Safety
We choose dependency when we avoid ownership and responsibility by never confronting our own wish for safety.
The most common way we maintain dominant and dependent relationships is by clinging to the idea of entitlement.
When coming out of a high-control governance system there is a tendency to take advantage of the choice handed us.
Managers can support empowerment but individuals must decide to choose empowerment.
Instead of focusing on the doubts of others, outward glances need to turn inward. The spirit demands an inward focus.
